LACC requires international students to obtain an F-1 visa, show proof of available funds and associated forms, provide a high school transcript showing completion, and show proof of English proficiency. A standardized test, such as the ACT or SAT, is not required.  There is no minimum high school GPA requirement.

 

Methods of proof of English language proficiency include official scores from one of the following sources:

TOEFL - IBT45 or higher
IELTS - Overall Band 4.5 or higher
Duolingo75 or higher
ITEP3.0 or higher
Language Cert50 or higher

 

Alternative Proof of English proficiency

  • Students from countries where their official language is English are waived from the English proficiency requirement.
  • If students are transferring to LACC from another U.S. college/university, you only need to provide unofficial transcripts from your institutions.
  • High School English Verification Letter: If you have attended a U.S. high school or an IB high school either overseas in the U.S. for at least 3 years, provide a letter on official school letterhead from the principle or head master stating the level of proficiency.
  • High School English Verification Letter: If you have attended a U.S. high school or an IB high school either overseas in the U.S. for at least 3 years, provide a letter on official school letterhead from the principle or head master stating the level of proficiency.
  • Completed the LACC Language Academy.
